Well I had a quick job to do this morning and was back by half ten so as planned of I went to some fields I acquired last year but had not been on as of yet. With so much promise I headed four miles down the road to the fields and on entering the drive up the lane to the farm I met the farmer. After a fifteen minute chat we got round to him telling me he had some pottery he had found could I come and have a look. So I thought yeah fine as it was his fields and it is the least I could do. Anyway nearly Five Hours later after five cups of tea, a mountain of cake a finds recognition hour an introduction to the local WI and when could I do a talk he asked if I had done any detecting yet. I had planned my first trip today I said but having now lost the will to live with all that cake I felt it was time to vacate and head home. I promised them I would be back on Weds knowing full well they would be in Hereford Market. But I get the feeling I may get a call from the WI. Even with the best intentions some days you just want to get on. His pottery collection looked promising as well plenty of Green Glazed medieval. So maybe Wednesday, MAYBE. Wink

Thats a funny story Paul - I got a farmer like that in the Vale who just will not stop talking - I can relate to your story having spent two hours with him a few weeks ago. Lovely guy but loves to natter.

The pottery sounds promising for what should be in the fields. Be interesting to hear how you get on Wednesday.

Cheers
