Well techony and I tried a new field this afternoon and were quite surprised with what turned up. A very interesting Iron weight with a cross shape through the middle. What could it have been used for?

The usual buttons, bullets, thimble, coin and a beautiful beehive trade token. [more on this can be found here

Some nice finds today, well done both. The iron thing reminds me of my 'bomb' but is much smaller and the gilded whatnot looks like the back mount for a Cameo.

Great finds Al. I love the beehive token and the way the soldier has a dandelion seed prosthetic leg  Grin

My finds weren't as exciting; what with a George V penny and buckle plate vying for top position in the pouch. The little silver blob thing looks more like a moltem aluminim blob rather than an exciting bit of silver now that its been cleaned. But the surprise of the day is that the small grotty oval copper coin/token thing with XII (like a charles Shilling) on the obverse has actually revealed itself to be the centre of a Charles I Shilling. Talk about clipped!

Anyway, here's the pictures,

Enjoy...

Wow, bet that coin cleaning took some time. Superb result though.

Well done indeed,
