Title: Beach Permit Link Post by: daf.vinci on July 23, 2009, 12:31:19 PM I had a reply from the crown estates at last.So i have enclosed the letter for anyone interested.Just follow the link to get your permits.
Our metal detecting permit is now available online and can be applied for at http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/metal-detecting (http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/metal-detecting) We do not often grant permits for our rural estates as they are nearly always occupied and rarely derelict. If you however have a specific area that you are interested then please send a note to enquiries@thecrownestate.co.uk and they will be able to pass it onto the appropriate estate manager, unfortunately I deal only with our marine estate. Regards Iain Hope it helps anyone who is interested. Title: Re: Beach Permit Info Post by: Richy on July 23, 2009, 12:51:36 PM Hey nice one DV...a result!

My personal thoughts are when the Crown estate used to charge £15 per beach per year holes no deeper than 6 inch's blah blah They found it was impossible to police so they scrapped the fee approx 2 years ago. Is this a way of finding out how many Detectorists are using the foreshore ? Perhaps in the future we may be charged again when they find out how much money can me made Well they haven't had a penny off me in the past and they certainly wont get a penny off me in the future. I want to be wales 1st Detecting martyr lol I may chain myself to a donkey on trecco bay lolol All the best Phil "Fight the power" Jones lol Title: Re: Beach Permit Link Post by: Legacy Hunter on February 07, 2010, 04:41:47 PM that is handy thanks debs

Title: Re: Beach Permit Link Post by: handyman [Alan} on May 05, 2010, 09:03:08 PM with the summer fast approaching - i thought it may be prudent for the initial link to be brought to the fore, for new members of DW to acquire such permits from the crown estate prior to going onto the beaches.
it's also worth noting that those issued last year are only valid for 12 months -- time to renew! cheers and happy hunting Title: Re: Beach Permit Link Post by: dances with badgers on August 28, 2010, 09:27:29 PM permit my aaaaaaaaarrrrrsssssse.they mental or what.probably ban all digging on beach soon and blame it on heath and safety policies.
