I admire anyone who can use an Explorer at high senc.i just dont have the attention span to do it  properly
Ive heared that lowering the senc doesnt have much effort on depth ,but im my experance it does.
I used to love to detect in Parks and around old building wth my Explorer but the high levels of trash used to give me ear fatigue very quickly

Used the SE in the afternoon on Saturday, Sen 29, no ironmask, conduct sounds and pro-coil, no problems, I dug 3 super deep iron targets  Grin I find the Explorers sometimes seem to like very deep medium sized flat iron! Huh I always use no iron mask and high sen, even on  very noisey roman sites,High sen seems to enhance the audio signals. The Sef 12x10 runs a bit quieter than the pro-coil and has the edge on preformance in my opinion, but its heavy! I use the SEF fitted on the Quattro on the beach, fantastic combo. Smiley

Chef,

When you say running wide open, can you explain that please? I run se pro in sens 24 - 27, upping or downing it dependant on noise, in iron mask set at 29, small black band LHS display and in conduct, low tones good etc.

When i turn up sens to 32, noise sounds like a strangled cat !

Occasonally i for a change go back to my sov elite, that just nulls over iron, still it does find the goodies also.
Hi outlaw as maxine has said, no iron mask at all, a completely white screens.

Of course they like iron if your running wide open, it's a metal detector!!. Big pieces of iron will fool 99% of machines even with discrimination, it's the wrap around effect.
