Unusual area to find them but there is one recorded for both RCT and Monmouthshire so not unheard of. This is what I think it is;
SOM-A5F8C7" style="float:right;<acronym title="The Portable Antiquities Scheme">PAS</acronym> record number: SOM-A5F8C7

Object type: Coin

Broadperiod: Iron Age

County of discovery: Wiltshire

It's amazing they are actually on a database Smiley - looks like the Silures were palmed off with one of the later, more billon examples though!

Yes there are no gold or silver examples recorded for Wales but of course you have to take finders honesty and greed in to account too Huh

Oh there are plenty recorded that were issued by the Dobunni, I'm only referring to those from the Durotriges tribe. Although they had no land border I'm surprised that more don't come up due to cross channel trade (Bristol) as the vast majority of the gold staters of the Durotriges are found on the periphery of their territories and are thought to represent proof of trading with neighbouring tribes.
But then again it increasingly seems that the Silures put no value in gold what so ever and were probably similar to tribes in Ireland who based wealth on cattle Wink

Lol visions of the Silures getting fed up of those silly gold rocks they had to rake out of the ground when planting crops     Grin
