Title: 210513 - a first!
Post by: handyman [Alan} on May 21, 2013, 03:50:11 PM
Well, the dull, grey misty morn, meant an early start to beat the modern day travellers who were hell bent on roamin their cars at speed all over the watling street trunk route. Avoiding the local bottlenecks, rednecks and breaknecks, my colleague and i finally reached our destination, just in time for the sun to burst through.

Setting up, my heart sank when i realised that my buddy had decided to tackle an area of what looked like bamboo canes that had just been cultivated! It was tough going, but he got a roman and almost immediately after, i had my first ever anglo saxon wotsit ------------------------ only joking, i know its a strap end!

next signal was the jeton and the 3rd signal 10 mins later was the dress hook. So, despite the very slow going and the constant stumbling over the canes, finds were coming up. all the rest were musket balls, buttons and lead.

enjoy the 3 pics

ps ---- also got a load of free canes for my sweet peas! result!

Lol, that's not an AS Key ring, it's a broken Zipper off his jeans!

Cracking finds Al, I'm still searching for a nice clothes fastener like that one or a strap end yet...
