Title: Etrac gold
Post by: Jonnietaz on July 18, 2015, 09:13:21 PM
Managed a few hours today, and the etrac came up trumps again, the best being a nice gold ring and George 111 half penny, who ever said these are no  good around iron, need to practice some more me thinks.

Well found John, nice ring. Was it on the beach ?

I was going to have a go with the Safari yesterday but was short on time so popped up to some of my old fields with the Deus for a couple of hours.   Much to my surprise I winkled out a nice chunky  harness buckle, complete with the pin and 3/4 of a shoe buckle. The most I've ever found in a little field I gridded by eye last year with the Safari.  One up for the Deus.

Hi Val, yes on the Sandy stuff, funny old spot,  the ring, George, and three modern ten pence, all with in two feet, plus a large coked up bolt, with six, or so washers, once I cracked it open, some good finds for yourself, I was a yes or no this week from getting the Deus with 11 inch coil, plus remote, but decided to stick with etrac, it would be nice to have it for the top of the beach, coin shooting, nice and light, I know it will work the wet sand as I have seen it for myself, but the etrac it is.

Don't blame you for sticking to Minelab.  Only thing that persuaded me was the weight.  Still hanging onto the Safari though, I love it, great machine.

The Deus might be good but where I always said the Safari loves silver I have to say the Deus loves coke. Round here there's plenty of it, very annoying.
