Title: Historical gold and silver rings declared treasure
Post by: Neil on August 28, 2015, 09:59:50 AM

Gold and silver rings dating back hundreds of years have been declared treasure by a coroner.

A late 15th or early 16th Century silver ring was found in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, by Alun Rees in 2014.

Phil Jenkins found a 15th Century silver ring in Carew in 2013 and post-medieval gold rings were found in Hundleton, Pembrokeshire, and Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, on two dates in 2013.

Carmarthenshire Museum and National Museum Wales hope to acquire the rings.

Dr Mark Redknap from National Museum Cardiff said: "These finds each provide new information about personal adornment circulating at different period in Wales."
