Title: Re: Little Celtic Post by: probono on April 18, 2015, 06:23:20 PM Very nice. I'm just amazed at what you are still pulling out of the ground.
Must say it does show the difference between ploughed and pasture - the one field I used to find things on is well and truly quiet - not saying that nothing else will ever come off it, but when you've even dug up the minerals,it gets pretty quiet :) Mind you the farm I'm on - the ploughed fields are even quieter...... Title: Re: Little Celtic Post by: Dryland on April 18, 2015, 09:57:44 PM Thats a GREAT selection, well found Paul
Title: Re: Little Celtic Post by: celticspikey on April 19, 2015, 07:30:22 AM Thanks for comments guys, I've said before these recent finds are from fields that has not been ploughed for 7-8 years, only minimum cultivation and consequently each year gets harder and harder but it draws you away from main productive areas of the field to search the areas you thought were quiet in the past ??? And I suppose even with cultivation whilst it does not turn things over from any depth it does move finds in the ground around......we've all heard it before never give up on a field ::) Oh unless there's nothing in it in the first place I guess, but how would you really ever know if you give up ;) ;) I've confused myself now going back to bed.... ;D
