This is a nice William 3rd Crown that my detector found for me,

narrr  it was a couple of years ago on a cowbridge ralley,  i was hoping to get out today if it didn't rain, i'm getting ichy feet lol,  never mind, getting on with other stuff out of the way now'
 i'll have to post my George 3rd half crown  that one is a cracker Rob

can't see the date properly on there  but its 1696,
 I was wondering if i can get out for a couple of hrs for a break now, just been outside, but its coming over black again and spotting doh,   i'm out tomorrow a lot,  i'll see what  its like on Thursday now and call in for a swim on the way back  lol

A really nice bit of silver , I bet that gave you one hell of a knock ! How deep was it ?

yeah  Alan,  a big signal, it was only about 2 inches down .
 They say it was worth or equivalent  to around 9 months wages for a farm worker at the time

good coin to find mate dont seem to see many of them found at all is the scraps on the front from you they look newish ;)

well lads keep going,  as you say there may just be one there for you waiting to be found,, yeah, not many about , i think its only the first or second iv'e seen come up, can't be sure which now,  Williams anyhow don't usually have much detail left on them  it must have been lost  in its earlier years,

  iv'e found my William the Third sixpence now that i'd forgot i had,,  thats pretty good for a William too, unlike your blanks or the Normal worn down ones,

That’s a nice coin Alan; I found a William III half crown last year in the Vale, there is a photo of it somewhere on this site.  In the detector finds section I think.

 I found this crown a few years ago  along with some Roman on some  new fields the club site farmer let us on after going around all his feilds one Sunday picking out all the ragwort we could find,
 the farmer supplied us with landrovers and pickup trucks to get around the fields, we had a good day,
 he let us on some new fields we haven't been on before in the afternoon,

 One of his prize bulls had eaten  some Ragwort  and it killed him,
