Got an invite out this morning, back to last weeks field which produced 19 buttons etc etc etc. Well today was just as interesting. The signals were clearer, [probably down to the recent rain], and within 2 paces of stepping onto the field i got a nice medieaval buckle.

Things were looking up, after deciding with my partner which way to go, we made our way westwards, and within the first 30 mins i'd recovered 4 buttons, 2 buckles and a hammered. I think the hammered is that of Henry 8th, and could be a sovereign penny. Though i welcome a positive ID.

If that wasn't enough, when i told my partner, a few choice words came my way. If that wasn't bad enough as he turned away, i got a lovely signal and out popped the 2nd hammy of day. At which point, do i tell him, or walk on?......

yep, you guessed correctly .. not wanting to miss out on a wind up, i told him! LOL you should have seen his face! Mind you, his command of the English language was improving as well!!

so enjoy the finds

cheers

It is Handyman Alan's find Missmaggs. This Henry V111 penny has a similar design as the Henry V111 sovereign. Simple as that I think unless someone knows different. I am sure one of the coin buffs on here can verify that or not.

They were differentiated as "Sovereign" because the portrait betrays the king as such on a throne Wink
