I found two on Barry Beach a few years ago - they turn up all beaches.

Take care out there.

Always wear thick soled wellies/boots.

Needles can be a problem but you'd be pretty unlucky to get pricked.

There's more to worry about from infections and other bugs getting into the body from contaminated soil. ALWAYS wear gloves.....even in summer.

Take some anti-septic hand wash which you can get in small plastic containers from Poundland, and periodically
rub into your hands.

Some of the bugs from soil make getting stabbed with a needle more preferable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just google the matter and I guarantee you'll wear gloves in future.  Cry

And its not just on beaches;

Over at least the last century, farmers have used some pretty evil looking syringes to administer to their cattle. I have found two detached hypodermics on arable land and they are still as sharp as the day they were dropped due to the surgical steel even though the attachments are corroded.

Be careful out there, even with gloves on.

It is a sad sign of our times that people have to chemically enhance their version of each day and discard their tools of the trade without a thought for others. Last summer after many visits to the coast from Borth near Aberystwyth to Broad Haven in Pembrokeshire we saw discarded syringes on each beach with children playing just feet away. Very worrying for all Beach users.
