Hi All,
Had this surprise find on Tuesday evening, thought it was a silver hammered stuck to a half penny, turns out after cleaning it is three silver hammered. There is nothing showing on the two exposed faces to identify what they may be.
I'm hoping that someone can tell me the best method of separating them without damaging them, there could be some detail on the connected faces.
Thanks
Smoo

Just like Buses, wait around for 1 for ages and 3 come together  Grin

Well found, hope it turns out to be 3 really interesting coins.

Thanks all, its one of those finds that i'll never forget. I will report it and leave it as is.
I went to the Chester with some finds that I and Cymro posted and they took the following to record:-

Edward III groat (1351/1352)
Elizabeth I 6p (1573)
James I (1607)
Roman Denari (Hadrian 123AD)
And small harness mount that Dingdong thought may be 13th century (I think).

The shield shaped badge with three loops, she said was possibly 1800's.

The information on most of these was provided by you very knowledgeable people.
I will keep you informed of any feedback I get in this find and the others when I get it.
Thanks

Wonder if they were in a fire - certainly post cleaning looks a little fire damaged.

It's possible that the coins are smaller, worn milled - be interested to know what is decided.
