A builder I know found this coin when dismantling a wall in a very old house. The date is 1616, but no mention of country or denomination. The Latin words are from Virgil and refer to a union so maybe in celebration of a marriage. Very early for a milled coin, I'm pretty sure its silver.

Appears to be a Louis XIII French Jetton. Had to use the google translator - so not perfect.  

NVNC VNA AMBE

That's brilliant, very grateful, thamks. Just makes me wonder what it was doing in a small hole in the wall. The builder says there was a bit of parchment with it but it just crumbled when he touched it.

Very cool story with a bit of mystery attached to it. It's a pity that the bit of paper didn't survive.
