Post by: brewermb on September 29, 2010, 10:58:46 AM
Hi, I have taken the liberty of drawing up an aganda for the meeting next Tuesday:

First Meeting of a North Wales Metal Detecting Club
RAOB Club – Madoc Street – Llandudno - LL30 2TW

AGENDA

If numbers permit

Meeting Open 8.00 pm
Election of Officers
·   Chairman (Take control of all meetings and keep order)
·   Secretary (take minutes of each meeting etc.)
·   Rally Organizer (Needs to be someone of persuasive nature and can get out and about)
·   A Treasurer will be selected by the committee

The committee will take control of the rest of the meeting and will decide through a voting process the following:

·   Select a treasurer – a person known to of honest character
·   A suitable title for the club (Put your thinking caps on!)
·   The venue if the current meeting place is not suitable
·   The meeting frequency (Monthly Quarterly)
·   Subscription rate
·   Take suggestions from the floor regarding running of the new club.
·   Any Other Business

Meeting closes

9.15ish Refreshments (butties and stuff)

i don't want to stand on your coil thats a lot to get through in an hour and half especially with complete strangers mostly.
i will be there and am willing to look for detecting land for club members I'm thinking of mini rallies the Sunday after the monthly meetings that gives time to find a venue.
IE the first one would be found hopefully before the second meeting so the Sunday after would be the first mini rally.
a charge of a few quid to keep the farmer happy paid at the meeting before I'm optimistic that it all pans out as it stands.

Hi again, it may seem a lot, but if it is done properly ( :)Ha!) it should be over in an hour and a half at the most. We will see, I am presuming there will only be 8 to 10 people  there, if there is a lot more; well then it may be different, and I did say ish.

when we set ours up, we charged those attending a £1 per meeting, until the AGM [in march], when the annual fee was set. This meant that if ppl didn't like what they were getting then it had only cost them a £1.

you also need to think of essentials such as
club logo,
membership cards, is there a trial period period before full membership?
publicity,
application for membership forms,
code of conduct for all members
insurance - NCMD or FID -- club membership through NCMD is cheaper than if u were paying as an individual

if you want any more help - feel free to PM me

I think we will concentrate on getting the club formed, then think about the legalities, which I know we will have to, I will be in touch. Thanks.
