As the picture caption says Jon
"Not so sad now are we? Metal detecting is enjoying some time in the limelight"

Nice link

I was talking to One of my farmers last week, and he said he doesn't mind if I dig up a Saxon hoard, and that he'll be ploughing a field up soon...one of our m8s found a Roman angel brooch in...see what turns up Huh

Another stopped and asked why I wasn't detecting on his land (quite a few acres)...it's finding time to get around them all

Nice to see the land turning up and some enthusiatic Farmers Phil. Sounds very encouraging.

The Norman coins are very rare and another example of something the British Museum can take a look at thanks to us detectorists.
