Interesting find Steve - not sure I would be putting any of the contents up my nose though! Shocked

Cheers

in this area [ forest of dean ] snuff boxes turn up regularly , I was told the local miners dropped them on their way to the pit.    still a nice piece of history . does anyone know how many types there was ?

Ive got 2 one a bit bigger than this i
think 19th century as the victorians used the snuff container
there wernt just miners who dropped them
this must have been dropped by a farmer
as there were no mines for miles snuff i believe is a
tobacco plant must have been very addictive
