I was very pleased with the Roman Sestertius was in pretty good nick. Also had a silver sixpence, and quite a few old pennies. Massive farm only scratched the surface of it.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow could not make both days but happy with my lot.

Great rallie folks! Had afew bits and pieces myself which included a st Christopher. There was way too much land in all directions didn't know where I was at 1 stage  :o  I was one off those that kept walking through opened gates and before I knew it was approached by a nice chappy I presume was from the neighbouring farm who explained the right fields too be in. No harm done as we just arrived so we did apologise had a little chat regarding the finds he's made in the past and showed us a quick route too get back. If maps can be handed out in future when there's 2 farms involved too avoid confusion due too it being so much land that would be great. Anyhow thanks too the landowners and the organisers for this weekend.  ;)

Oi !!! Rat indeed !!!  :o must admit the remote control works well apart from the recall lol. And the camouflage works well in the stubble, so I'm training him to sneak up and pounce on an unsuspecting handyman...  ;D

Must admit it was a really great rally totally enjoyed it and thanks to Rob for gaining the permission and Alun for leasing with Ben the landowner :) not forgetting Neil and Geoff for organising and most of all Ben and his family for letting us all on to his land, giving us such a warm welcome and helping sort even more for the second day, and as for the breakfast and bbq that was in a league all of its own !  Looking forward to the next time :)

BTW spineydave broke his Roman brooch duck today after 14 years, on bens patch and Renwick and myself found another couple of brooches on the new land this afternoon. Not a bad day all in all. Well post up photos tomorrow :)

Thanks to everyone for a really great weekend and for the great company. Really enjoyed it :)

Absolutely brilliant rally, it has to be one of the best that I've been to. The organisation was flawless and thanks to everyone who worked so hard to set this two dayer up. A big thankyou has to go to Ben and his wife for their hosptality. I would love to go back there
again SOON.  ::) I  drove to the last field before leaving for home and managed to pull out My 4th hammy. What a weekend and not a
single drop of alcohol passed my lips ;D

Great Rally, great place,  especially great for me as I don't get to many, great people, everyone sooooo friendly. Really enjoyed meeting so many.
Many thanks to all concerned for their tireless efforts in securing happy pastures for us to play in and, of course, Mr & Mrs Taylor Davies for allowing us to do so.

Only one fly in the ointment.  I didn't manage to find a Hammie. But then how could I,   Dylan had them all. ::) ;D  Well done Dylan  ;)

Great rally, thanks to all the team who work so hard organising these rallies for us. Ben and his family were so welcoming. We didn't find anything worth mentioning but we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to the 2 lads who helped us put up our tent and also to Ken who also gave us a hand in setting up. This was our 1st 2 dayer and will not be our last.
It was great meeting so many people and putting faces to forum names.
Looking forward to the next one already!
Some lovely finds made, well done everyone

Thanks to all for an excellent rally. Perfect weather and a huge amount of easy to dig land to choose from. I had some nice finds too - a roman head figurine, a roman minim and a George VI silver half crown. I think pics of the first two will be in the rally report but if not I will post them here.

A great rally with acres and acres  of detecting land available, I was lucky enough to find  a 1604 James 1st hammered and a small hammered with no visible markings, I also had a silver 1818 George 111 love token with many other great finds. Many thanks to DW  for organising a great two dayer with many great finds found. I look forward to the next rally !

As a few seem to be posting their finds on this thread I thought I'd add my surprise find. Posted it separately hoping for confirmation but I'm fairly sure now it is an Iron Age Spear Head.

Thanks Val.

Very nice to meet you on Sunday.

I walked from the camp site across all the fields down to the flood plain on Sunday.

I also spotted a massive badger set in the banking on my way back.

Also 'popped' into the orchard field for ten minutes and had this coin.
