Found this today and was quite frightened to clean it--so it remains uncleaned. My reasoning was I was undecided as to its age. Could be victorian but perhaps it could be much much older. Anyone have an idea as to how old it could be ? ?

Ive taken a close-up of the pin and a side-view of the object which may help. Ive seen similar since I posted this of a 16th century date. It truely is a lovely object once its cleaned up--Ive removed some dirt from the back since my initial post-- it will look amazing.
