Bunch of loons, wandering around in a field all day in the hope they may see something that hasn't been seen in a long time. Wouldn't catch me behaving like that! Roll Eyes

In the years Ive been metal detecting around Loch Leven in Kinross-shire I've come across these enthusiats on several occasions. Indeed I'm aware for example, some wild bird reserves put a "Tracker" in  birds nests. The Tracker enables them to record the different temperatures the nest has during the breeding season. Ive recovered quite a few for my local bird reserve. I've also recovered metal devices where the different types of plants and their growth are recorded annually. So quite a few things go on without many people being aware that could be described as weird.
