Beautiful weekend for detecting (bar Saturday)
A couple of new fields made available, but still the old one's proved the best Huh

Couple of our friends dropped out over the weekend, but myself with Melonhead (mark) and Silky (Phil), with a guest apperance of Casa dos and Ann today, enjoyed a good days detecting.

A varied amount of odds and ends turned up today.Mark had a wide range of stuff. The photo of his George penny, doesn't do it justice,a big horse brass, an intresting button with a tower with a bird perched on it, a William 3 copper love token.
Mark and Phil will post additional finds??
Unfortunately(not for me though) the only silver to come up was a George 1922 shilling and a hammered Lizzy half groat?Huh Think Peter better decide ....I'm a bit dubious about it Huh

Anyway, enjoyed the company, great people to detect with.

Thanks Peter,

Still don't know how you do it.....Me and Mark were looking through the book at the end of the day, and were still baffled... Huh Huh.didn't seem enough letters nor marry up.. Undecided...anyway , if we keep turning them up....you'll have to come along as our advisor Wink  ps Silky was spot on Smiley

Thanks again.

All the intresting odds and ends on the weekend belong to Mark (Melonhead) and Phil (silky). I ended up with a pile of grotty coppers (although one might be Roman), buckles and buttons. Good job I found the silver......my magic silver finding gloves Shocked Shocked    done the trick again Huh

For info;   gogled it Wink
Thats the best thing about our hobby and finding things...it broadens our knowledge....wait till I'm on "who wants to be a millionaire" and that question comes up Roll Eyes

Peter would know this better, but Doubles was the currency of Guernsey and 8 doubles was the equivelent to our 1d

I didn't know that until we found it....we thought it was a drinks token Huh
