Title: Monmouth finds
Post by: win on September 01, 2014, 08:35:05 AM
This was the nicest item I found at the Monmouth dig, Aug 31. Its a small badge showing a harp and a crown with the words 'Union of England and Ireland' so I guess it can be dated to the Union Act of 1800, or maybe earlier if it was a way of showing your support for a union. Found on the planted field behind car park.

Just love finds like that, where you have a history to go with it and you start to think about the way the objects have been used, and by whoom. Super find  :) :)

Hey Jo , where have you been?

Here and there  ;)  Busy with new job, a few trips to Denmark and a few new places to work the stick.  :)
Waiting for a rally on a day when I'm actually not in Denmark  :D
