want help identifying something which is thought to be of major importance

hi all i have found something that has come tolight as being a fob seal
i have had a local historian look at this and after some research and some ideas as to who,s it is we have hit a brick wall
what we do think is that it is 17th century and someone involved with pembroke castle at the time could be the owner of this
was wondering who could i get to give me more info on this

Well if you put up a photograph you may be surprised what may come of it and the direction it could lead you. Be very careful in assuming fob seals are anything other than "off the shelf" as they were a very popular fashion, also, though this fashion establishes itself in the late 17thC these early examples are rarer with the vast majority being Georgian.
