The sky was blue, the sun was shining and the waves were gently lapping.  Armed with our trusty tools of the trade, we ventured forth onto golden sands.  We were on the beach just after 10.30am, and another detectorist was already following the tide out.

Tyna and I worked the tide line in the opposite direction.  Aver about 3 hours, all I had to show was a couple of lead weights.  I met up with Sandpiper further down the beach - he had a stunning Victorian half crown dated 1890.  I wandered over to see what Tyna had found - and she had not one, but TWO gold rings  Shocked. Great result  Cheesy

In the distance, I saw Falcon's Dad - he had a little gold ring also.

A beautiful day, lovely finds, and our 15 minute journey home took newly an hour and a half Undecided
Photos to follow shortly.

One 9ct, weighing 2gms and what looks like 22ct weighing 3.2 gms.  The hallmark is worn, but the colour is a lovely "buttery" gold.

Great result - well done Debs and Tyna! Any pre decimal coinage come up as well?

I was tempted to head to the beach today, but my wife had other plans for me! Tongue

Cheers

Nice finds, well done. Does the second ring have something engraved inside the band?

It looks like a name, but it too is worn along with the assay.

Neil - Sandpiper had a Vicky half penny I think along with his half crown.  Tyna had a decimal 10p and I had no coins at all  Cry

Well done Girls. Giving the boys a run for their money, keep it up.

Missed the tide today but had a couple of hours p.m. Came home with 1921 penny, 1962 two shilling, musket ball, lock cover, and a few buttons and washers. (Left the iron behind)

Tyna, tried my 1st ploughed field yesterday, I wasn't impressed but came home with 50p Grin

Hi Tyna

Yes I do beaches. I just don't find anything. Roll Eyes My fault I think, the signals are multiple and Iget confused. In other words I don't know what I'm doing. Cry
Sand is what I'd call 'lumpy' at mo. loads in some places but not too bad in others. Looked at Wisemans Bridge yesterday, with dogs. Lots of sand at topof beach but lots of shingle stretches washed in lower down. Looked as if it could be productive.
