Are any of you locals looking for a "TAG ALONG" I make the best sandwiches in north wales and will even throw in some petrol money, maybe even a drink ! ............ but draw the line at digging your holes ;D

I`ve been digging on my own for the last 2 months and could do with someone to team up with and save my sanity ! I live in prestatyn and spend most of my digging days strolling my local beach swinging my garrett150. I`m unable to travel because I don't drive but hopefully that will change soon.

if your happy with a bit of company and don't mind me taking up a seat in your car then please get in touch  ;D

im sure on off our north wales members will take you out mate especially if your sandwiches are that good ;)

Hello can i come along ? ive only just bought a detector and live a fair way out Whithurch, shropshire ,  i have been wanting to meet uo with others and have had no luck finding a local club. Get back to us please ta rick  :)

Sorry to disappoint you all but this just started out with a couple of us going out for a few hours. It was never stated to be an open dig so you will have to find places to go and people to go with you yourselves. Sorry again.

well garretace 150 wanted a response and looks like he got 1  ;D,,i didnt have no way near that many hits when i was after tectin partners and ive got thousands of acres to go on ,,must be my aftershave  :-\ ;D

carling, the comments are coming in thick and fast, a lot of response but im thinking theres going to be too many people if everyone turns up, can you imagine how that would look from a farmers point of view (Klondike rush comes to mind) may not be a good idea to all turn up

i know where your coming from ,everyone has to draw a line somewhere when i advertised for tectin partners i had 2 responses that i could could follow up and took the both guys under my wing,, even now i take em on my sites and the farmers look at em to say whos this ,, it,ll take time i soppose ,,its a case of you cant please all of the people all of the time,,,,hope it goes well for ya ;)

I've taken quite a few people on my  permissions but always one at a time, it's hard enough getting fields for yourself, that's why I don't abuse the farmers trust.

I think Nobby was being quite genuine, we have had so many people from the north trying to get clubs and groups going for many years but your group has succeeded where others failed and it's down to enthusiasm you lot have shown eachother.

Now if you would like to stand up and tell the class "why you think it's a p..s take?"

I was being genuine, it was only the other week Paul(carling) was also looking for a detecting partner and he had little or no reply.

I have also been thinking the same as Nobby and Chef for weeks now. It is brilliant how you have all gelled and there seems to be a genuine sense of camaraderie. I resigned from a club last year after 12 years. That was the opposite, you couldn't get anyone interested in doing anything. Digs were poorly attended and an enormous lethargy had set in. Keep supporting each other in the way you are, and you will stay strong.

Perhaps this thread has run it's course or is there more sarcasm to be drawn out of it ?

Only just read the majority of these comments (new to the forum and missed them, in some circumstances) please feel free to keep your pathetic comments to yourself and only reply if genuinely concerned about the topic, and if that urge to privately message me and express such a pathetic response then feel free to BLOW IT OUT OF YOUR ARcE and tell someone else, I thought this site was to "HELP" newcomers and introduce them to the wonders of metal detecting. not to ridicule the people that are getting to know the hobby.
Please don't get me wrong but I feel that a few certain people who are making it harder for new blood to get involved should be banished and left in the dark, Rather than ganged up on an bullied into reclusing into a private life of digging.
To put it bluntly........... if you haven't got anything usefull and helpfull to say then please keep it to yourself ! there are plenty of people that are genuinely interested in the historical importance of a find and not that of a valuable piece to get rich quickly.

No offence mate but you detect on your own mainly on the beaches, because you don't have any transport

Do you have permissions for any land around your area to share ? that would be a far better assentive than offering sandwiches and petrol money.

I think your find that most people on here are a friendly bunch, and as a newcomer there be able to offer you lots of advice and help.

tis true garretace, well said relichunting,since ive took on 2 full time tectin partners,the land portfolio   ;D has grown greatly {i get the land,they supply the transport} and it helps,, we identify the hotspots quicker,we can get to places i wouldent have thought of a while ago and im never stuck for somewhere to go,is it a disadvantage to get tectin partners on your own land ? defo not,youll soon find new places spring up all the time.
