Hi all, sandpiper and I went out today ;Don on  a new field near a roman villa we found all sorts, lots of lead, some coins and a few  interesting items ,big fields but only worked a small area, can anyone  ID on thy pic's please ???

Looks like a cracking site , some of that stuff is very interesting , looks Roman to me ,,,well done lads

thats funny Pete - thats exactly what I thought a Gunters Chain Tag, but different to the one I have. Used for measuring distances during map making. Chain on the floor with different pronged spaces every 24 foot I believe. I'll dig a photo out of the one I have somewhere
