Title: Teaspoon
Post by: glyn on April 25, 2016, 06:37:47 PM
Hi all,   here's a teaspoon, garden find, that I can't find any info about.
It has no markings, but bits of plating remain.
It would be nice to put a date to it.

Very difficult to age a spoon unless it's got some makers  marks or is a particular design.
Yours looks quite 'chunky' almost home made. The end of the handle is a bit different and from the amount of corrosion I'd say not too old, probably late 1800's into the early 1900's.
Keep going. You never know what might come up next.

Thanks for the info, fits in with the general use of the land,  cottages built  about 1851,
out of use and fallen down about  1965.
