2013

Quite a large field with no history but a 'hollow' near the top which if you got down into the hollow you could not be seen from the Roman road.(middle left)

Move out of the hollow to the top of the field near on 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside.

So I assume Romans may have used the 'hollow' hide or at least feel safer in times gone by.

Very little pottery found in this field.

Thanks for looking.............Doug

Nice finds Doug and if I'm not mistaken a Roman lock pin - hmmm smells like there may have been a front door there.

Love reading your posts.

That's a nice field and nice finds - three sestertii in a season (Ant Pius, Severus Alexander and Hadrian!) - at least one billon Ant and the rest seem to be covering the first half of the 4th century.

I too enjoy reading your posts.
