Title: Last Sunday outing
Post by: wagis on June 08, 2017, 01:30:26 PM
Just got round to putting these bits on, managed a couple of back breaking hours in baked hard soil on Sunday and came away with these items and a couple of musket balls not shown. The small round lead disc with the dots and cross on I am not sure what it is but I have seen this pattern before but can't think on what, don't think it is a bag seal as some of the other items are (one with 1789 on it), I have shown the other side of it as well. The square thing with the little arm doesn't look that old but the glass??? discs in it are black and not see through so any ideas on this one would be appreciated. Is the second one down a trade weight, and the new pound coin was added for size thanks.

George

The second one down certainly looks like a trade weight.

the lead item looks very much like a flax seal,
