Managed to find a new farm Saturday,took some persuading too.I'd noticed a farm near to one of the farms I've been detecting  had cut all their sill-age,seeing as i have been struggling a bit to get ln anywhere i decided to give them a visit,unfortunately the farmers wife was there on her own and after i explained what i wanted she immediately said "NO",not being put off easily i asked if there was any particular reason,she explained that they had not long had a quad bike stolen and was not keen on people she didn't know wandering around,thinking fast i told her about her neighbours farm where i have been detecting for the last two years,she started to come round a bit,and said you'd better speak to my husband,he'll be back at 1.30pm.I called back just as the husband was arriving,i spoke with him and explained that i just wanted a few sill-aged fields to search to which he agreed straight away.Went back again Sunday,and after showing him the finds from Saturday,he said,"don't bother calling at the farm house again now i know who you are just come when ever you want" "oh and by the way we also own the land all over the mountain at the back,you can wander up there with out any problem as we own it all " Shocked
Just goes to show if your honest about what your doing, you can get land to search. Grin
