Started off with a 5p and a few odd 1p's, bits of wire and tin cans....... etc. Then what should pop out of the meadow but a bit of hammered silver - hoorayyyyy! My first too. Very worn Hammy Love Token we think. Maybe a William III sixpence but too worn to tell properly. Any help on ID please but know it will be difficult due to wear. Title: Re: love token! Post by: Chef Geoff on April 16, 2014, 07:30:38 AM It wasn't so much to stop clipping as you couldn't clip milled coins which had been around for 30 years but to replace the older clipped hammered coins which still made up the bulk of silver coins in circulation ;)
