Like a challenge do you? A shiny new donkey for anyone who can identify this odd looking thing. Seriously though, I haven’t a clue what it is; found it a while ago and it was relegated to my miscellaneous silver collection. It looks a bit like a part of a pair of spectacles but, it’s too small. It is silver, has no hallmarks and probably held something (maybe glass) as some point. Anyone seen anything like it?

It looks like a 17th century monocle, the kind of thing a "dandy" would use to look through and show disapproval at. I have one with long nose clip looking attachments.

I will go with the 17-18th century monocle theory, looks like it could have held glass from the photo.
