Title: Sennybridge
Post by: peppermintpatty on February 07, 2017, 01:39:10 PM
Any advice or tips for anywhere in the Sennybridge area that I can go detecting?
I know that the military have restrictions on where you can go but is there anyone out there that can offer me advice?

Not knowing how experienced you are at detecting, before you detect anywhere be it Sennybridge or any other place, you need to ask permission from the land owner first before detecting.

I've only detected on beaches so far and I've been on one rally. I realise that i need the land owners permission but in an area like the Brecon Beacons, how do you find out who owns what?

not my intention to sound condescending so please don't take it that way, go and knock on the doors that you can find  there must be some farms in the area

Finding out who owns what land (for free) seems quite difficult, although you could knock on doors and ask. If you want to know who owns some particular bit of land you can apply to the land registry (for a fee).

I think that any land that is used by the military would be off limits due to any possible ordinance left around.

As said, you knock on farmers doors and ask for permission like the rest of us do, quite simple really.  ;D
