Title: Hello all Post by: reidlosder on February 29, 2012, 10:46:57 AM Hello to everyone, My name is Richard 53 years old, from Caerphilly, I have had detectors since the early 80s. I have had a back problem for a few years now so this is not the ideal hobby, but I am determined to get back to it in some sort of shape.looking forward to reading through the threads here for some inspiration. Cheers all.

Title: Re: Hello all Post by: reidlosder on March 01, 2012, 06:37:34 PM Thanks for the welcome,I have been reading through the threads here and it seems like I have been out of touch for a long time, there are a lot of obstacles involved nowadays. It feels like there is a vendetta against anyone who wants to metal detect, or is it just me?. I always knew you had to get permission on private land , but not common land. Permits for the beach, not allowed on parkland, armed to thieve if carrying a detector,I thought having a disability and not being able to drive would have been my biggest problem getting back into the hobby :(. You all seem like a great bunch here considering the pitfalls of the hobby, thanks again.

They are a really friendly and helpful bunch on here. i would go so far as to say they are exceptionally friendly .
I'm in the same boat as you having given up detecting in 2005 due to back problems. Sadly I cannot swing my old Minelab Musketeer Advantage anymore but the new Garrett series of detectors are amazingly light. i can use my Garrett Euroace for hours without any fatigue . The Garrett AT pro is also an excellent detector for the money and is waterproof as well. Title: Re: Hello all Post by: reidlosder on March 02, 2012, 08:28:57 PM Thanks peanut, it's very encouraging to know that there is someone else with the same problem and still out and about. I have a bounty hunter quickdraw11 detector which I will use until I am sure I can get about OK, if all goes well I will upgrade. Finding somewhere to search is now my main aim, thanks again and happy hunting.
