HI Val,  sorry,  i must share the title with you lol,
i found one a few yaers ago and showed Mark  he took it into the museum,
they told me after examining it  it was a plant stalk fossil, some 350 milion years old,   i found mine just laying there on top of a harrowed field waiting to be seeded,
Alan,  iv'e got a better pic somewhere, can't find it right now,

Hi Al
Nice to know someone else has one.  Mine, like yours, was just lying there.
The confirmed age is in facte 300 - 350 million years.
Like I said the oldest find yet. Will take a bit of beating I think.

ha ha, now your talking Tyna  lol,  i have got a PIECE OF THE OLD BERLIN WALL THOUGH LOL
Val. my mate in America  said he found a grey one like your's on a florida beach  back 50 years ago,
mine is more like a stone though,  maybe the sea salts and minerals ect may change the colour, and the different type of ground it had formed in
,
if it was ploughed on tuesday when we were out i was going to take Shianne on there to see if we could find more,  there is sure to be more pieces there,

i'll have to keep an eye on the field in case it gets ploughed again,   a lot of the farmer's are changing their crops this year.   so different or no ploughing times,
Alan
