after a invite off our good friend Paul ( Waltonbasonman ) myself & Melonhead went up to Herefordshire,we got up there around 9-30am and Paul was waiting for us ,Paul told us that we had 4 fields( pasture ) to detect on plus a apple orchard,we went to the first field and straight away Paul found a nice William & Mary penny in not bad condition, after a few buttons and ointment tubes we decided to go into another field, where we all had some Vicky & Georgian pennies,Paul and i also in that field both found watch winder keys, then we decided to have a bit of lunch and sat down and chatted about times out detecting and with our good friend farmer Phil, also chatted about D.W. rallies we have been on,the farmer stopped on his tractor pulling a unit full of apples and chatted with us telling Melonhead & i about going to school with Paul. after lunch we went into the apple orchard with a lot of apples on the ground , we had been in there about half hour and a signal i had under one of the tree's and dug up a nice George 3rd Shilling 1816 after a rub with the fingers came up nice ,and withing another half hour dug up a cut half of a Elizabeth 1st sixpence, it seem to be cut on purpose but not to sure, Melonhead by this time was hunting more purposely for silver as he did not want to go home with the famous banana we get every weekend we go out detecting Grin Grin Cheesy, later on we went to another two fields but not a lot came up ,a very nice day we did have up in Herefordshire and the weather was sunny most of the day. thanks Paul for the invite up to detect ,  Wink photos to follow.............can you spot melonhead. Cheesy

Enjoyed reading that Kev - well done on the silvers. Odd to find a cut sixpence.

Nice going you three, I love that Georgy lovely condition. Looking at that Lizzy and the slight "curl" at the edge, I would say that's the tell tale sign of a bend that has snapped the coin. The good part of that is, the other half is probably still there somewhere. Wink

It was a good day and thanks for the write up Kev as we lost our home hub Friday but the man from BT turned up this morning and fixed us. Had loads of signals on what was a virgin farm although I had got permission 3 years ago. I was so worried we would find nothing I barely slept Friday night but now we know its there we can go back when the animals come in and I did not tell them he has another 150 acres across the road. Herefordshire is a great county for detecting and I am glad you enjoyed your trip lads. Here,s Kevs Liz  Ist

Before the landscape park, railway and tramway sliced the village the mainroute east west and north south sliced through the area and none of the modern roads existed in the area pre 1789. We barely touched the farm Paul.

Great Pics Paul.  Kev looks as if he's teeing up his golf shot and I don't think Mark has quite understood the name "Golden delicious"  Grin
