Hi to all, does anyone know where I can buy the clear plastic covers that cover the pin-pointer ?
Or,has anyone got any experience of these?
I think I have seen them on the internet, but don't seem to be able to find them,
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for looking .👍🎄🎅

Hi Chris.  It's called    'Heat Shrink Tubing'  available in different widths and colours.

I had mine covered in it for some time, John did it for me.  As you've  noticed the Garrett pointer is not a uniform shape so he had to buy the wider measurement.  This came only in a thicker comp. And it took ages to shrink to fit and was too thick to cut for the speaker section.  This meant that the volume was reduced.  I wrapped the bottom with black tape but eventually fine, dust like soil worked it's way in and started to build up so I cut it off.
If a thinner one could be found it would be much better and could be changed easier when needed.  A good quality sandwich bag would do the job just as well with the aid of some sellotape.

That's what I do,Val,but before tightly wrapping in a bag I cut the middle finger from an old pair of rubber gloves(pink or yellow good for locating out in the field) and cover the end.All easily replaceable when worn.
Oh dear! I know I have left myself open to many ribald comments, but I've used this method for a couple of years and the probe still looks brand new.
I think I'll leave it there...... Roll Eyes

Hi dingdong , I bought a cover on e bay from a seller called papadoody  there were different colours available with or with out lanyards( mines yellow helps to find it in the field ) they cost between £6- £10, The quality has been good had it about a year now . I would defiantly get another when it wears out ,saves any damage to my Garrett  probe. hope this helps .

Glad it's not just me that says the wrong thing Mrs Steptoe.  It can get confusing working out your thinks and things and you bowls and bowels.  It's a woman thing  Roll Eyes  Busy minds, busy fingers and never the 2 shall meet  Grin

Thanks for the heads up on those covers neylandboy.  They look like the same idea  I had but they come with top & bottom covers.  Just might treat myself after Xmas.  A bit chancy ordering now.
