Welcome Jeff. ;D
This is a site like no other.  Most are quite sane and the rest mean no harm, :o  Lots of cheerful banter and always someone to help if needed. Enjoy.

Val

I prefer to think of myself as completely bonkers. Wandering around a field waving a plastic stick with a ring on the end in complete silence must be a bit strange dont you think.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Hi Jeff

Many years ago I used to go detecting with a guy in his 70's called Terry who was from
Merthyr.(Around the corner from the hospital) He had no transport but bags of sites,
mostly around Brecon.

He had some good finds. He used a C-Scope Metadec (non motion) and a screwdriver
and knife to recover finds, which is an American method. You don't see it much over
here.

He'd being detecting for years and a real charachter. Ex army and used to roll his own
cigarettes; always had one hanging out of his mouth.

I doubt he's still alive but he must have been one of the first detectorists from your area.

He had to give up because of health.
