                       If it's what I think it is; I have had three or four of those. The best one that I ever found, I gave to the farmer for his mum, whilst on a dig wth the NWDD club.  Wink

I think you're probably right Chris.  Sheep up in the hills and cows down on the lower pastures. I've only found one spindle whorl but have a collection of cow horn protectors. 
Taking our locations into account, it speaks for itself.

val,  i have several dozen spindle worls but never had a cow horn protector unless i just dont recognise them as such , must be an area  thing or a detector discrimination thing
