Hi All
Anyone see Tony Robinsons program on the Saxon hoard last night ??
it was totally amazing i couldn't keep my eyes off the screen
It really sounded as if Tony was Pro detecting for a change

yes - but it was probably due to his shrewdness in realising that there could be a lot of 'voiceover' opportunities from presenting such aprogramme, in the future.

i think he knows how to paly the media game especially well, in order to line his own pockets -- plus to get to see/handle artefacts that others will only see from behind cabinets.

still, nice work if you can get it.

But i suspect your right
But its still a good thing for Joe public to see Metal detecting in a good light for a change
I can see the sales of Metal detecting rocketing especially when the program is aired again on the weekend

I'm not sure why people take his comments so seriously, he is only a presenter/actor and as such presents things the way he is told or scripted to do so.
Very enjoyable program, but brought back traumatic memories of when I had a Whites Eagle Spectrum in 91 (first programmable detector made) and I have to admit I gave up trying to use it, that was the second piece of technology called Spectrum (first was Sinclair) I gave up on and have avoided the name ever since Grin
