I am going to spain in a week or so and taking the Deus with me.
If anyone has any decent beach hunting tips or Deus specific beach tips then I would appreciate some advice as I am a beach newbie

cheers

Best advice is...Don't take the Deus or you might not come back with it Shocked
Detecting in Spain is a bit hit and miss as far as restrictions are concerned but the police do have the power to confiscate your machine and fine you. Oh and they do

Not sure about Spain but continental police are not like your Brit Bobby.
Had some hairy experiences with the
Euro constabulary over the years. I'd take a cheapy if I was you.

yes its not easy to detect there , France are a bit better but you will still need to have a permission of the local council and so on too much paper work for detecting its a nightmare .

Now you know why I go to Mauritius.

Last time there, on the beach with the Deus, I got chatting to a Police Officer and got an invite to
dinner for me and the wife to meet his family!  Grin

Yes, he was a real live police officer.

As you say, the hotels have their security and then there's beach attendants on most beaches who look
after the beach and toilets, if there is one.

They are such friendly people with no begging or tip culture. Stunning beaches which are hardly detected.
The shops aren't up to much unless you go to the capital Port Louis.

I'm going back over Christmas with an underwater PI   Grin
