Thats a tough choice , I'm sure there will be a lot of advice to follow, but the Deus seems to be
very popular at the moment

Then the CTX is the one to go for, the Deus will work on the beach but is no where near the depth of the CTX on wet sand. Wink

Geoff is spot on CTX for beach, my mate got one awesome depth, has to get on his knees to dig the holes!! god help him if he falls in one of them Wink I would however save his CTX before he disappeared out of site  Roll Eyes in land though on a recent trip to a Roman site of mine,my Deus produced 41 roman his CTX 19, not a hoard but a terrific find rate. The question is power and a truly light machine to swing all day get the Deus or power and a well balanced but heavy machine get the CTX Huh Huh If money no object go for the best of both worlds and get them both Shocked Shocked, good luck what ever you do for and keep us informed as there two of the best machines on the market, I expect you already know that Wink Wink

My find rate has gone up since getting my CTX. I used to have an Etrac, but it was cripplingly heavy for use on long days scanning. The CTX is more well balanced and appears lighter and seems more sensitive than the etrac, and I have found really small coins/coin fragments on sites where I thought I had exhausted any finds.

Cant say how much better/worse a Deus is than the CTX coz Ive never swung one, but I know several users who have been confused by the different programs and settings on the Deus, and as cheffy has said, the ctx is the dogs doodahs on wet sand.
