Had a few hours on the same field that produced 3 hammies last week with Neil, Mike and Nobby. I hoped that after a week of rain the low conductors might show themselves with a bit more gusto, but it wasn't to be and the only thing in that range was the usual handful of buttons and dross lead.
But the high conductors were there a plenty but mainly modern apart from this one;

It's the blade of a middle Bronze Age socketed axe (1300BC), unfortunately broken but the break is ancient so probably as it was lost. The field next to this one produced a Bronze age hoard of axes and weapons back in the 19th century and there is flint all over, so while this is for me, a lovely find, it's not a shock.

Great finds Geoff - the consensus in the car on the way home was that would be a cracking field with a bit of rain!

So the folly is now a Bronze Age Folly!  Grin

Well found - see you soon.
