Last week's meeting voted to change rule and allow multi-club membership. Presumably this applies from now but Debbie can confirm if it requires a more formal approval. If not then it really should be publicised on Scan site and maybe by letter to non-internet/not at meeting members.

Thanks Jeff - as you have stated, I proposed at last Wednesday's club meeting that we drop the single club membership rule and a show of hands from the large majority of Scan Club Members were in agreement with this.  However, I will check at the next committee meeting on the 23rd June if we have to do anything more formal to carry this motion.  When this is ratified, I will ask PeterH to put a posting to this effect on the Scan Club website.  Deb

i think this would benefit both clubs with membership fee's and a healthy turn-out for club rallys

Well I for one will be joining Cardiff Scan , I've met quite a few of their members through DW and have enjoyed their company. My only thought is, that with the whole RARE - Cardiff Scan past history is there likely to be animosity towards dual club members.

I know we're all interested in the past but the arguements that have gone on in the past should stay in the past.

Remember species that dont adapt die out!

Well done Debbie for standing up to be counted.

Thanks Rob - it's good sometimes to take a fresh look at things.  I totally agree with you - any grizzling between the clubs in the past should stay in the past - going forward I hope we will all have the same fun and camaraderie on rallies and digs that I always see and enjoy on the DW rallies.  I look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Cardiff Scan Club Rob  Smiley

exactly Mike, iv'e always thought that, they didn't used to have the one club Rule,  members used to belong to Both clubs o.k.. i wonder if its cos of all the trouble one of your members caused us a few years ago and nearly got our club closed down.

Looks like a big thank you is in order to Admin (Geoff) for initiating this site and breaking down the barriers that existed then, well done Geoff didn't realise there were warring factions out there and don't understand why, but certainly looks like you have done a peace mission and brought everyone together  Smiley

Detecting Wales rallies has introduced me to some fine people and I for one don,t care if they are a member of a club. To me they are genuine nice people with a keen interest in our fine hobby and that is all that matters. Well done all for seeing common sense and hope it brings you all good fortune. Well done to Geoff on creating the common ground as well.
