Loads of what look like small bits copper ripped apart ,plenty of  iron and £1.52 in change no bullets ,i only went just past the lighthouse ,I will try again next week different area

£1.52 on your first outing, well done paddy.  I think the bits are shrapnel. We find loads around here from the M.O.D sites when they're playing war games.

A quick scrub with a pan cleaner and at least you can spend the money  ;)

Hi Paddy,
                 that's a nice start; the copper shards are what is left of the metal jackets off 50cal, .303, and .30 bullets. Talacre beach was used by the RAF and USAF as a target firing range during WWII. The further west that you detect, the more copper shards and bullets you will find. The air to ground targets were located behind the dunes near to the third Norcon pillbox on the beach.
