hi guys this  silver button was found by BORDERFOX a few years back any id's on it got JOHNSON wrote on it any help please .

I know exactly what that is Kev and John. Its the top of a riding crop (whip) used when fox hunting. I have also found one silver - turn of the century, with the fixing pin still attached.. Went on the top of the whip.

thanks kev and neil, the button was found in the middle of the battle sit  in cowbridge, cromwell attacking cowbridge castle he s holding a sword, at the time of the find, most people thought it to be 17th cent. why we posted it i thought it was a man s name,  recently my mate looked at it and thought it might be connected to johnson pembroke  i wonder the militra connecion, and did they send troops to help the castle the little holes around the middle make me think of sewed on button ? ee you soon have a good day tomorrow, thanks john
