Title: A new bit-a-land!!
Post by: dingdong on September 20, 2015, 05:43:17 PM
Hi to all,ask after an absence of finds its nice to be able to post a few photographs of my couple of hours with the NOKTA FORS CoRe.
Apart from the early Victoria penny, and the early Victorian halfpenny I didn't come up with much, but, well it was something!! Strangely, both of the coins  are dated 1861,although they were found at opposing ends of the field.
NOW!!what I would like to know,is the other "button" like object is made of "brass" (possibly) and it has an inscription around the edge, which appears to say"WARRENTED"(definatly legible) and the other word"SUPPORTER"not sure as its been somewhat erroded, sorry but its the best I can get!!so any help would be very much appreciated. It also (hardly visible) is what was the English coat of arms, its too heavy for a button, could it have been a badge?
HELP PLEASE!!

It's not "Supporter" it's "Superior" and it's a name plate from a Disston hand saw from the early 20th century ;)
