Good to find a decent site  for us people who enjoy "land fishing" as my friend calls it...lol, i'm on my second stint at detecting , so i have some catching up to do . i have a caravan in Brean so i have been having a tentative go with my machines ( Garrett ace 250 and Tesoro laser hawkeye) on the local beaches (without a lot of luck) mostly cash , one 80 year old ruby and diamond gold ring, and a fake romanian gypsy gold ring, plus the big one (take a look at      burnham on sea .com        article dated 18th august)  you'll see what i mean ,,,, if some one can put it on as a link , go ahead, i haven't got a clue ,look forward to chatting and hopefully meeting some of you. regards Mike

Thank God it was only a gas bottle , though if it had been a bomb , i wouldn't have spent the rest of the week answering to Calor gas Mike   lol,,,,,,,,,,,, scared the coast guard initially though.
Im back down next week , going to try the laser hawkeye on the beach for the first time , i found it great for field work , i found three 20mm wwii cannon cartidges within 30 mins of turing it on
