(note to admin, Please can we stop leighton from wearing shorts and wellies on 2 dayer  Cheesy )

So you want me in just my socks and Y fronts then, Kev?  Grin

Seriously, my wellies did rub my bare legs quite a bit, so I think I'll be wearing my hiking boots instead in future. The shorts stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, made acquaintances with some new faces...good atmosphere.
Well done to the organisers, Chef Geoff, admin Geoff, Tafflaff and any others, had some pointers off PeterH and Handyman Alan....Well done all & thanks.

Great lot of finds and nice to see.

Here's mine cleaned up.except the silver...well pleased
The silver, is in lovely condition, even the writing on the edge of the half crown is perfect. I do like the jetton though. The crotal bell still as the ball inside and still rings, and still not sure of the pot leg...looks like a lions claw (about 5" and quite heavy). Other finds are shown....several buckles, coppers and pot legs.

Well done Ozziehead Jo for finding your first silver

Well what a great day was had by all. Fashion statements aside a very productive day for a lot of people. I am glad it all went well and such a wide variety of finds. Though not in attendance myself due to family commitments all who did attend had a worthwhile trip. Some favourites for me are Phil,s Crotal bell ( very nice good sir ), Geoff Chef,s posy ring and some nice Jettons as well. Well done organisers and participants on another successful day. Has wetted my appetite even more for the two dayer. Bring it on.

I ought to mention that all the 'official' Yatton finds photographs were taken by Tafflaff (Rob). Getting them ready for uploading to the site took him all evening after he'd arrived home from the rally. A really mammoth task after a long day at the rally where he arrived early to sort out the parking and left late to make sure he'd got as many photos of the finds as possible.

I'm not sure that everyone realises how much pure effort Rob puts into DW and our events. DW wouldn't be half the site it is without him.

Another nice day out detecting, thanks to all those involved in finding the site, no spectacular finds myself, 2 musket balls, 3 buckles, george II halfpenny, 1 token, part of a bell, and a few other artefacts, still enjoyed the day and looking forward to another one.    many thanks,
