after a lot of research  i have now discovered  that it is in fact ,,,,,,a Coin of the Roman Emperor Claudius II (Gothicus) 268 - 270 AD Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin,,,,,,,,,,, its amazing to think that a 1740  year old coin has lasted all that time  and  you are the first person to hold it since it was lost   all that time ago ,,,, amazing     Shocked Shocked

well done on the research young man. i wondered how long it would take you to read the name claudius on the obverse!

as u say, the thrill of being the 1st person to hold it in almost 1800 years is a real buzz. long may it continue and wait until u get your first denarius!

nice claudius11 digga,  well done,  handyman first law of digging deep 2 bronze age terrett rings 1 roman terrett ring bronze age cloak fastener ,  denari hoard, all about 18 inches roman  lead oil lamp 26 inches most in the last twelve months oh and one iron horse shoe 200 years old  all recorded in welsh museum with depth  3 roman harness mounts plus silvershilling at 16 inches  oh no iron regards john
